My name is Doug Hamilton and I’m an artist residing in Oxford, OH. I am a musician, mechanic, and owner of BikeWise Oxford. Born in 1963 in East Point, GA, I have spent my life in a near perpetual state of distraction, but in the last few years have managed to find a little focus. This blog is one of the products of that focus and is, like most humans, a work in progress. I clearly lean a bit to the left, but then, so does history. It wasn’t the conservative spirit that gave women and minorities the rights to vote, nor has it trumpeted worker’s rights. Instead, it has clung to the past at every step nearly always ending up on the wrong side of history. I have a strong egalitarian bent, and like the tribal Native Americans, believe greed is a form of mental illness. We are not what we own, we are what we do. We are shaped by our actions, and we, as a society have a lot of work to do.
